Richard M. Kerrell - Wood Artist
About Studio #25The Prescott Area Studio Tour gives the public the ability to see how art is created. I will have both the processes and materials available for review. I enjoy sharing information on how I create my art. During the tour I will have multiple process on display. I will also have some of my latest creations available for purchase. This is the perfect time to find a unique gift for yourself or someone special.
I will be demonstrating my Fractal wood burning artwork. Fractal wood burning is the process of using high voltage electricity to create patterns on the wood know as Lichtenberg Figures. I have experimented with applying this process to several items including boxes, bookmarks, wood panels on a stand, and wall hangings. After I have applied the burning technique I will apply color to the figures. This color includes pearlized epoxy filler or paint with metallic effects. I plan on having several examples of the embellishment on display during the tour. I have just scratched the surface of what is possible and as time goes on I will continue to experiment. I will also have demonstrations on furniture construction techniques, wood turning, and box making. Make sure to come by early, the best examples will not last. This can’t miss event is sure to be a lot of fun.
